Busy Cardiac Surgery Group is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to care for their Cardiothoracic Surgery Outpatient Visits!

Candidate will Participate in all aspects of outpatient cardiothoracic patient care on a busy, growing cardiothoracic surgery service, including comprehensive post-operative care, patient education, and this position is strictly outpatient in the outpatient office practice.
Participate in CT surgery process improvement and program development projects.
Be on the front lines of optimizing the patent experience while on the Cardiothoracic surgery service.
Basic working knowledge of the pharmacologic effects of vasoactive/ cardiotonic drugs, ventilator management and artificial cardiac devices
Thrives in and fosters a collaborative, team-based and patient-focused environment
Proficiency with detail-focused daily patient education and discharge summaries
Capability and comfort working independently and thinking critically, with appropriate and reliable attending supervision
Competency and efficiency with complete patient evaluations, including consultations and History/Physicals
Ability to work collegiate with multiple cardiothoracic surgeons
Desire to participate in cardiothoracic service process improvement projects
Master’s Degree in Nursing for Advanced Practice Nurse/Nurse Practitioner
Additional Educational Requirements
Nurse Practitioner must be a graduate of a program accredited by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN)
Preferentially, a minimum of 3-5 years of cardiothoracic surgery is required; other candidates with operative experience may be considered.
Certification & Licensures
- Possesses and maintains an unrestricted license to practice in California
- Possesses and maintains an unrestricted DEA license to prescribe in California
Re certification, if required is necessary
- Must possess well-developed interpersonal skills to work smoothly and productively with patients as well as administrative, nursing and physician staff
